IMMUNIZATION FLU CLINIC

The Centers for Disease Control recommends everyone over the age of 6 months to be vaccinated.

The LaGrange County Health Department will be holding an afterhours Flu Shot clinic on October 24, 2011 from 4:30pm – 7:30pm. This clinic is open to children and adults. Children from 6 months to 18 years of age are free but we do ask for a donation, if possible, to help cover the cost of supplies. Anyone over 18 years of age the cost is $20. Flu vaccine is available now at all our regular clinics sites. If you have any questions, please call us at (260)499-4182 ext 231 .

If you have questions regarding the LaGrange County Health Department immunization program, or to schedule an appointment, please call the Health Department nursing office at (260) 499-4182 ext 228.

A neighboring county is experiencing an outbreak of Chicken Pox and has had to exclude students who have not had disease or who have not been vaccinated from school.  The LaGrange County Health Department would like to encourage parents to review their child’s immunization records to ensure that they are up to date.

Varivax (Chicken Pox Vaccine) is routinely given at 12 months of age and a second dose is given between the ages of 4 to 6 years when a child receives their kindergarten vaccinations.  Current school requirements are 2 doses for k-2 grades and 6-12 grades.  Children in grades 3 -5 are currently only required to have one dose with their second dose required upon entry into 6th grade.

In the event of an outbreak within a school, any child who is not vaccinated will be excluded from school for 21 days after the last case is diagnosed.  Also, children in grades 3 – 5 will be required to receive their second dose of Varivax.

To help prevent an outbreak in LaGrange County, the Health Department will be offering an additional clinic on Thursday, December 29, 2011, to allow parents to get their children vaccinated.  Please call (260)499-4182 ext 228 to schedule an appointment.

Walk-in clinic hours are Monday and Wednesday 8:30am – 11:00am and 1:00pm to 3:00pm.  We offer appointments all day on Tuesdays with an off-site clinic on Thursdays.

The Immunization Clinic will be closed on the following dates:
